Leaf is a sculptural fiber artwork inspired by the delicate yet resilient structure of botanical forms.
This piece is inspired by the quiet beauty of leaves–their intricate vein-like patterns and their ability to hold both strength and softness.
Through careful knotting and combing, I shaped the fibers to echo the natural patterns found in these botanical forms. Each strand is individually knotted, then meticulously combed and aligned to follow the gentle curve of a leaf.
In this work I use up-cycled cotton, giving new life to existing materials while exploring the relationship between craft and sustainability. The process is slow and meditative. I spend extensive time refining the silhouette, adjusting tension, and shaping the fibers so the final form feels fluid, balanced, and organic.
