Spiral is a sculptural fiber wall artwork that explores movement, continuity, and organic rhythm through curved, flowing fiber forms.
This piece is part of my exploration of organic structures found in nature. Through repetition and controlled knotting, I investigate how fiber can create forms that suggest growth, rhythm, and expansion.
Spirals was inspired by the recurring spiral patterns seen throughout nature such as shells, plant forms, wind currents, and flowing water—shapes that symbolize growth, transformation, and the passage of time. I was drawn to how such a simple curve can hold both motion and balance.
As I worked, I allowed the fibers to guide the direction of the form, shaping each curve gradually through repeated knots and gentle adjustments. The curved lines of the form unfold in a gentle spiral, drawing the eye inward and outward at the same time. The process unfolded slowly, allowing the spiral to emerge naturally—like a movement captured in fiber.
