This piece is part of my exploration of sculptural fiber forms inspired by natural landscapes. Through layered knots and textured surfaces, I investigate how fiber can evoke the quiet strength and depth of geological formations.

The Canyon was inspired by the slow and patient way nature shapes the land over time. Just as canyon walls are formed through gradual erosion and pressure, this work developed through repetitive knotting and careful tensioning of each strand.
As the structure emerged, I shaped the fibers into subtle bends and uneven rhythms that reflect the shifting contours of canyon walls. The softness of cotton contrasts with the strength of the form, suggesting that even delicate materials can carry resilience and quiet monumentality.
