This piece is part of my exploration of rhythmic repetition in fiber sculpture. Through repeating forms and layered knotting, I investigate how simple elements can create movement, playfulness, and visual energy.

Whimsical Waves began as my desire to translate the feeling of being near water into a tactile form. I wanted to capture the quiet joy and calm that comes from watching waves shift, repeat, and never return in exactly the same way. 

Each panel is created slowly by hand using fine cotton cord, allowing the form to develop naturally as I guide the fibers. The process is meditative and intuitive –almost like drawing with fiber. When installed together, the panels create a gentle rhythm across the wall, inviting the viewer to pause and experience a sense of movement, lightness, and ease. Like waves themselves, each arrangement becomes its own moment, personal, fluid, and ever-changing.

The artwork is ready to hang right out of the box with wall mounting hardware and instructions included for effortless installation. It is recommended that the artwork be installed onto a stud wall for maximum stability. If installation on a stud wall is not possible, it should be secured to drywall using drywall anchors and screws.
