Linked is a minimalist fiber wall sculpture that transforms traditional maritime knotting into a contemporary form.

Inspired by traditional nautical knots, this piece reinterprets the barrel knot as a sculptural composition. I braid soft cotton using the macramé crown knot technique and then shape the resulting rope into the barrel knot form, creating a tactile rhythm that bridges tradition and contemporary fiber art.

In my work, knots often symbolize relationships—how individual strands come together to form strength and harmony. Through careful braiding and knotting, Linked reflects the quiet beauty of connection and the interplay of continuity and tension.

This work is part of my Knot Sculptures series, where traditional knotting techniques evolve into contemporary fiber forms exploring connection, continuity, and emotional bonds.
